Journey into the land of the book

Let's explore the book from every angle ! Firstly, what is the origin of the book ?
See what form it took during the Egyptian period 2000 years ago... and even further back to the caveman era. What are the different scripts ? And what if we imagine a new one, composed of signs and drawings ? The course will provide opportunities to discover the sources of our own civilisation as well as those far back in time and place, (for example the Australian Aborigines) through this extraordinary object of the book ! We will also look at all its possible forms : from the binding to the cut out pages, resembling an accordion or an origami, shimmering with colours or keeping secret its treasures...Two joined approaches complementing each other will be : the binding with Astrid Bury and the illustration with Sophie Daxhelet.
